Scout Google Chrome Extension

Scout's Google Chrome extension allows you to create cards and decks directly from your Chrome browser and into your Scout app. You can also share any newly created card immediately from the extension.

It is super easy to install and use. Before you begin, make sure you have downloaded the Scout app and created a user login.

Installing The Extension

Click here for the install file to the Chrome extension. Follow the on-screen instructions and you’ll be set up in a matter of seconds. You should now see a Scout logo with the rest of your browser extensions.

Note: If you do not see the Scout extension, click through to your chrome extension settings (Chrome >> Preferences >> Extensions) and ensure the Scout extension is set to enabled

Log into Scout

Use your same login and password from the Scout app into the extension

Using The Extension

You can add any web page to a card and deck in Scout and organize it with tags right on the spot. Simply click the Scout logo on your extension bar in Chrome and a card creation screen appears with multiple optional fields for cataloging your card.

Title: This is the title of the card as it will appear in Scout. If you already have a card with the same title in Scout, you will be asked to pick a new title.

Description:
Add more information about why you are saving this card.

Tags: A way for you to easily find anything you are looking for by keyword. You can add multiple tags to a single card to help stay organized.

Add to: Allows you to add the card directly to any deck you have in Scout or create a new deck to add the card to. To create a new deck for this card, click on “New Deck” at the top right corner of the extension window. Once you fill out the title and description of the new deck, it will appear selected. You can add a single card to multiple decks by selecting them from this screen.

If your card is ready to be created, click “Create” at the bottom of the extension window and that’s it! You will see a “card created” confirmation, a preview of the card, and have the ability to share it by clicking “share.” If you are finished, click “done.”
